This recipe does not take a lot of brain power to make ; This means less thinking and more effort into eating this great meal.

Pork sandwiches are one of my favorite things to make because they can be as simple or complex as you want them to be. pork, in general, is a very versatile meat that can go with a lot of different flavors.

Quick, easy dinners are my favorite kind of dinner. And sandwiches? Sandwiches are the best. So when I can make a quick and easy sandwich for dinner, it's pretty much the perfect meal in my book. Enter the pork sandwich. Pork, in general, is a very versatile meat that can go with a lot of different flavors. And ground pork sausage is especially great for a quick and easy dinner because it cooks up so quickly. My favorite way to make a ground pork sausage sandwich is to add some sautéed onions and peppers, a little BBQ sauce, and some sharp cheddar cheese. But you could really put whatever you want on your pork sandwich - from simple to complex - and it would be delicious. In this sandwich we are using ground pork and making a marinara sauce with it. Who does not love a saucey Sandwich.

The Recipe

Ground Pork Sausage Sandwich

Serves 4 people

Prep Time: 10

Cook Time: 20

 

Ingredients:

454 grams of Ground Sausage or 5 fresh ground pork sausages

2 tsp Salt

2 tsp Pepper

2tsp Oregano

Onion powder

Garlic powder

2 cloves of garlic

½ cup of Chopped onion

1\2 can/jar of hearty tomato sauce

Dry Parsley (optional)

Fresh Cilantro (optional)

Fresh Basil (optional)

 

Step 1: Place your frying pan on medium to high heat

 

Step 2: Cut through the casing on your sausages and release the meat from the casing of your sausages into the pan. 

 

 

Step 3: Break up your sausages in the pan with a wooden spoon until the ground sausage looks minced/ crumbly in texture and because browned. This process is called browning

 

Step4: While the sausages are browning add in all your seasonings, garlic, onion and combine and stir until fully mixed.

 

Step 5: Once combined well and cooked until brown add in half of your tomato sauce and let cook on low and simmer with the lid on for 10min.

 

Step 6: You are looking for your sausage sauce to be thickened                              

 

Step 7: Take your meat sauce and spread it on the bottom half your bread and put grated mozzarella on top.

 

Step 8: Take the top half of your baguette and spread butter on top and then place both halves under the boiler for 2 mins until the cheese is melted or for 5 mins on your toast setting in your Mini toaster oven.

 

Step9: sprinkle fresh chopped onions, cilantro and basil on top of the melted cheese.

 

Step: 10 place your top half of bread on top of the bottom half and cut down the center creating two full sandwich halves.
